Aha Bodhi Dhamma Samiti

Aha Bodhi Dhamma Samiti (ABDS) is a trust registered under the Indian Trust Act and was launched in Chennai, India by the well-wishers of Buddhism and Truth seekers. ABDS is primarily a spiritual organisation rather than a religious institution. The main objective of the organization is presenting Buddhist Meditation to the world without making any denomination (subsect) such as Theravada, Mahayana, Zen and so on. Our thrust is to give only practical aspects of Buddhism. This obviously means Buddhist Meditation and Mindfulness of breath.

Various meditative techniques from the scriptures of Buddhism and from the works of commentators have been collected, pre-sorted and included in the courses conducted by our organization.

The techniques from Tibetan Yoga, especially breathing techniques like "Thumo" and other mild breathing meditations have been collected from major scriptures like "Secret Doctrine".

The founder and director of ABDS is B.P. Pranav, who aims to bring spiritualism to the modern world through the teachings of Buddha.


Objectives of Aha Bodhi Dhamma Samiti

  • To create an awakening in the individual through an understanding of the purpose of life that will have a deep and abiding effect on the quality of life of the individual.
  • To spread the message of service & sacrifice and emphasize how these are necessary for an individual to improve and transform his life.
  • To evolve a practical philosophy that is logical, and relevant to the times and which will ennoble the life of the individual.
  • To promote Buddhist system of meditation being practiced in tradition Buddhist countries. And to create a website for promoting Buddhist meditation, Tibetan Yoga and Reiki.
  • To promote and strive for the advancement of civic, social and moral of the community.
  • To aid and organize activities having the objects of relief to the poor, handicapped, old age home and under privileged, educational, medical relief or advancement of other objects of general public utility.
  • To initiate and encourage, sponsor and support, social welfare and charitable works to help create a caring and sharing society with good virtues of generosity and compassion.
  • Forming an institution for the research of Occult science in India.
